We had a wonderful (and HOT) adventure. The arrangements were fantastic. The hotels and villa locations were outstanding – easy to get around, lots of restaurants, and convenient to the sights. We LOVED the villa. The pool was a highlight with the heat. We had a wonderful winery tour and lunch. I truly appreciate your advice about the shorter stay in Florence. It was packed with tourists. Rome and Paris were perfect. Surprisingly, they didn’t seem as crowded. AND of course, the food was amazing.

For our next adventures for 2027, we are thinking about two trips – one in the spring and one in the fall, but of course, we seek your advice.

It was fabulous! Portugal is now one of our favorite places. The people there are so nice and pleasant. Everything you booked for us was fantastic. We especially loved the Reid Palace Hotel in Madeira. We’ve never had such incredible service and luxury at a hotel before. The accommodations exceeded 5 stars. We will definitely have to return to Portugal and visit other areas.

We had a great trip. Having a couple days free before coming home makes a lot of difference. The room we stayed in had a great view. We were the first ones to stay in the room since it was remodeled. That helped because everything was sparkling clean.

Every activity exceeded our expectations. We were surprised that a cousin happened to be there and we had dinner with her, her son, and a friend. Then we flew home on the same flight.

We ate breakfast almost every day at Eggs N Things. The waiters got to know us and the meals were large enough that we could split them. The cost each day with a tip was about $25. Just about every place that we ate, we were able to split the meals. The Mother’s Day Tea at the Surfrider was a little expensive, but worth it. The Luau at the Royal Hawaiian was great and we sat next to the stage. One place that we ate a couple times was on the 3rd floor of the International Market Place. It is named Liliha Bakery. They have dining and a bakery. Of course we took dessert back to our room each time.

We also had great meals on the flights over and back.

Slovenia and Croatia are beautiful countries and we found it easy both to drive ourselves from one destination to the next and to arrange full-day activities to augment our brief guided tours in Zagreb, Ljubljana, and Dubrovnik. We are happy we added a day to Plitvice National Park as we encountered a rainy day and our extra day in the area allowed us to reschedule our planned hike through the park to a day filled with sunshine.
On balance, everything worked as they were supposed to and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring both countries … along with day trips into Bosnia and Italy just to see how the neighbors lived.
