I love recommending the Caribbean Islands for a destination wedding. It’s a short jaunt for us on the east coast, and you can get to any of the islands pretty easily. Instead of paying for an expensive wedding that lasts only a few hours, you can spend several days with your family and friends in a tropical location!

Many of my clients love how they can bring everyone together, and it often turns into a once-in-a-lifetime family reunion because guests from all over the country are more motivated to come. You don’t have to work so hard at planning everything because the resorts and cruises coordinate everything and make it easy for you, often for free when you reserve a few rooms there!

One of my favorite weddings was at Sandals in Jamaica. It was a twilight wedding, so they got the best of both worlds – sun for the ceremony that led into twinkling lights of the night. There was a dance floor right on the beach, with a live band playing local steel drum music as we danced in front of the beautiful sunset over the ocean. The Caribbean calypso music and vibes are so different than a traditional church wedding,

I think beach weddings are the best, so if you’re considering a destination wedding in the Caribbean, I say go for it. You don’t have to worry as much about pleasing everyone – because you know they’re gonna have a good time, guaranteed. You’ll save a ton of money and, best of all, the honeymoon starts right away!
